Intrafin II: A Visual Diary of My Inner Landscape

Intrafin II (24"x24")

The canvas before me, `Intrafin II`, is more than just paint and surface; it is a testament to the internal currents that guide my hand, a whispered secret from the depths of my own making. When I first laid down the broad washes of golden yellow, I felt a familiar warmth spreading, like the first light of dawn breaking through a dense canopy. It wasn't about depicting a sun-drenched field, but about evoking the sheer energy and subtle anxieties that stir within me as I embark on creation. These underlying layers of earthy green, sometimes murky, sometimes vibrant, are the landscapes of my subconscious, the rich, fertile ground where ideas first take root, often tangled and untamed.

As I began to introduce the black, it was never an act of despair, but one of definition, of finding form amidst the fluid. When I allowed the black paint to drip and splatter, it was the raw, unadulterated release of emotion, moments of sudden insight or sharp frustration, allowed to simply exist, unpolished. The sweeping, bold lines that emerged from the black were attempts to chart a course, to find a narrative in the abstraction, a definitive mark in an otherwise flowing existence.

Then came the white—a whisper, a breath of clarity. The white lines, often layered over the darker hues, felt like threads of thought, weaving through the complexity, sometimes bright and clear, sometimes diffusing into soft, ephemeral veils. The splatters of white are the small, unexpected joys, the serendipitous accidents that bring lightness and a playful rhythm to the composition.

And then, the blue. That deep, resonant ultramarine blue arc. When I painted that curve, I wasn't just applying color; I was consciously drawing an anchor, a core. It represents a recurring theme in my life, a profound emotion or a foundational truth that, despite the surrounding chaos and myriad experiences, remains steadfast. It’s the constant current within, guiding the flow, giving it direction and meaning.

The title, `Intrafin II`, holds a very personal resonance. "Intrafin" for me, speaks to the exploration of my internal landscape, the delicate and powerful "fin" that propels me through the inner waters of my being. It’s about navigating the unseen currents of emotion, thought, and intuition that lie beneath the surface of everyday life. The "II" signifies that this isn't a singular journey, but a continuation, a deeper dive into the same profound well. It acknowledges that I’ve been here before, seeking, feeling, understanding, but each time, I discover new depths, new nuances in the familiar. This particular canvas, `Intrafin II`, is a chapter in that ongoing, intimate dialogue with my inner self, a visual diary of how I perceive and swim through the currents of my own spirit.
