Nox Poema: My Silent Song on Canvas

Abstract Painting – Original Wall Art – Oil & Acrylic on Canvas – Nox Poema (24"x24")
There are moments when the brush feels like an extension of my very soul, and the canvas, a silent confidante. Creating 'Nox Poema' was one such journey, a deep dive into the very core of what drives me.
When I laid down that expansive deep blue, I wasn't just mixing pigments; I was inviting the vast, unwritten night onto the surface. This dark expanse, for me, is the 'Nox'—not a frightening darkness, but the profound, quiet space where thoughts are born, where the world falls away, and the inner landscape comes alive. It's the silent potential before words are spoken, before light breaks.
Then came the white, sweeping strokes on the left. As I pulled the thick paint, letting it twist and turn, I felt a surge of release, like a whispered secret finally finding its form. It was the echo of an idea, a nascent melody in the quiet. The vibrant yellows and oranges that punctuate the deeper tones were like sudden bursts of understanding, fleeting joys, or the memory of sun-drenched moments breaking through the contemplative night. Each dab of lemon yellow and the almost childlike lines in orange felt like a sudden discovery, a spark igniting in the quiet expanse.
The cooler, lighter blues and greens on the right side emerged as I sought a sense of balance, a breath of fresh air after the intensity of the dark. These weren't planned with rigid precision; rather, I let the paint spread and mingle, observing how the soft greens beneath the textured blues brought a soothing counterpoint, like quiet reflections in a tranquil pool. The smaller, almost geometric shapes and delicate scribbles woven throughout the deep blue, these are my 'Poema'—fragments of thought, half-remembered dreams, the tiny, everyday wonders that string together to form the narrative of a life. Each dot, each zigzag, each fine line, felt like a single word chosen with care, building a silent verse.
'Nox Poema' isn't just a title; it's a philosophy that guides my hand. It means "Night Poem," and it speaks to my belief that even in the deepest, most introspective, or even challenging moments, there's an inherent poetry to be found. It’s the beauty that emerges from complexity, the light discovered within the shadows of existence. As I stepped back, observing the tapestry of color and texture, I felt a deep sense of calm, knowing that I had poured a piece of my own silent song onto this canvas. It is the joy of translating the inexpressible into a visual language, allowing the viewer to find their own poem within my night.
