Subcon-Verte I: An Exploration of My Inner Garden's Verdant Truth

Abstract Painting – Original Wall Art – Acrylic Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas – Green Yellow Painting – "Subcon-Verte I" – 20"x20" (50x50cm)

There are days when the canvas calls to me, not with a gentle whisper, but with an urgent, primal thrum. "Subcon-Verte I" was born from one of those days, a deep dive into the swirling currents of my own making. When I first laid down that vibrant yellow, it felt like an explosion of pure, unadulterated energy, a sunlit burst of intuition spreading across the surface. I wasn't thinking of anything specific, only allowing the color to speak, to sing its brilliance.

Then came the greens, deep and alive, spreading across the canvas like an untamed forest floor. As I pushed the brush, letting the shades blend and clash, I felt myself merging with the sheer vitality of growth, of burgeoning life. It was a chaotic embrace, watching the raw, earthy tones emerge. The textured brown, almost carved into the surface on the left, grounds the energy, a memory of solid earth amidst the effervescence. I remember pressing the material onto the canvas, feeling the grit and substance under my fingers, a tangible connection to something ancient and steadfast.

The black strokes that followed were not born of darkness, but of definition. When I dragged the thick black paint across the pulsing greens and yellows, I wasn't just marking the canvas; I was carving out paths, creating anchors in the swirling landscape. The sudden drips and splatters were moments of surrender, letting gravity and chance play their part, reminding me that not everything needs to be perfectly controlled. And the white, oh, the audacious white! I remember building up those thick impasto strokes, pushing the paint, making it stand out, a beacon of raw emotion, a thought taking solid form amidst the abstraction. The light turquoise lines, winding and looping, felt like fleeting thoughts, brief moments of clarity or sudden flashes of inspiration cutting through the intensity. The gold leaf, a shimmering surprise, catches the light, a tiny treasure discovered in the depths of the unconscious.

The title, "Subcon-Verte I," holds a world within its two parts for me. "Subcon" is my ode to the subconscious, the vast, uncharted territory of dreams, hidden feelings, and unfiltered instincts that guide my hand. It's the place where ideas are born, raw and untamed, before the conscious mind tries to shape them. And "Verte"—it comes from the French "vert," meaning green, but for me, it also echoes "vérité," truth. So, "Subcon-Verte I" is an exploration of the raw, green, verdant truth of my subconscious, a first honest glimpse into that inner garden. It's about bringing that often-unseen part of myself to the surface, allowing its wild, vibrant energy to manifest. This piece, "Subcon-Verte I," is not just paint on canvas; it's a captured breath, a visual diary entry of that intense, intuitive journey. It's me, in my truest form, speaking through color and texture.
