Abstract Painting – Original Wall Art – Acrylic Oil & Mixed Media on Canvas – Blue Yellow Painting – "Subcon-Blau I" – 20"x20" (50x50cm)
When I first approached the canvas for what would become 'Subcon-Blau I', I wasn't thinking of a finished image. I was thinking of depth, of the quiet hum beneath the surface of thought. As I mixed the various shades of blue – from the ethereal sky tones to the profound, inky depths – I felt as though I was stirring the very waters of my own inner world. Each broad stroke, each swirling blend of azure and indigo, was an act of diving deeper into the subconscious, into the vast, unspoken sea of emotions and intuition that guides me.
There were moments of pure, unadulterated release, like when I allowed the vibrant orange to streak across the canvas. I felt a jolt of rebellious energy, a fierce joy in letting a color so full of life slice through the introspective blues. Those delicate orange drips and playful splatters? They are the sudden bursts of clarity, the fleeting moments of epiphany that bubble up from the profound silence, demanding to be seen, to be felt.
The heavy, almost gravitational presence of the textured black mass in the center, with its spiraling line – that was a confrontation. I remember feeling the weight of certain truths, of dense, unarticulated feelings that hold a mysterious power. It's the core, the unshakeable truth, perhaps even a beautiful, dark secret that dwells within the blue expanse. And the silver circle, reflecting light ever so slightly, felt like a whisper of hope, a small, precious discovery shimmering within the depths I was exploring.
Then came the fragments: the snippets of text, the faint, geometric outlines, the cryptic symbols. I wasn't trying to convey a specific message with them, but rather the sensation of fragmented memories, of half-formed thoughts and whispers from the periphery of consciousness. They are the echoes, the half-heard conversations within oneself, a testament to the layered complexity of the mind.
The title, 'Subcon-Blau I,' is more than just a name; it’s the very essence of my connection to this work, and indeed, to my creative spirit. 'Subcon' speaks to the subconscious, the hidden reservoir of human experience, and 'Blau' is my chosen vessel, the color of boundless depth, of introspection and dreams. This piece, 'Subcon-Blau I,' is my first deep breath in this particular ocean, an initial venture into giving visible form to the invisible currents of feeling and thought that continually shape who I am. It’s a personal journey, painted with the raw honesty of what I found there, a testament to the profound and unending blue of our inner landscapes.
